Memory Quotes
"Curiosity is as much the parent of attention, as attention
is
of memory."
---Anonymous
"Memory
cannot exist without endurance of the things perceived,
and
the thing perceived cannot remain where it has never been."
---William Hazlitt

Dear
Friend,
When
I was in school, deciding what to do with my life,
one
of the things I wanted in training as a therapist was
to
understand the most complex disorders.
I
always believed if I could understand what was considered
to
be complicated, simple disorders would probably be a
piece
of cake.
That
thinking served me well.
By
understanding the brain as a whole and brain ailments
in
general, I grew to realize, the problems created because
of
one disability can be very similar to others.
First,
realize the brain can heal. Second, understand that
the
memory and mental disorders we study are all variations
of
negative effects to the same organ--the brain.
The
brain, responds similarly to healing processes, no matter
what
the disorder. And amazingly enough, many of the brain's
ailments
come from similar sources, toxins and trauma.
So
if I discuss head injury or epilepsy and you check in only
because
you know someone with a stroke, don't stop reading
just
because you think these problems are so different.
They're
not.
For
example, today I will discuss Autism.
Again
I invoke you, stop thinking these disorders are so very
different
and learn about the lesser problems like ADHD by
understanding
the greater problems like Autism.
Many
believe Autism to be simply a severe manifestation
of
a highly toxic insult of mercury and/or aluminum and other toxins to the brain
usually from a combination of vaccines.
Thus
the importance of avoiding or removing toxicity from
contact
with the brains of all of us cannot be
overemphasized.
There
are many lost and far away patients who have suffered
just
from alcohol toxicity, which can cause a horrible disorder
known
as Korsakoff's syndrome.
Patients
with this syndrome are as vegetative as severely
Autistic
children any day.
Don't
think for one minute that what is helpful to Autism
could
not possibly
be helpful and applicable to their
problems
also.

Now
let's review a Palm Beach Post News report from 5/1/05.

More of What Autism Can Teach Us: Families Hope, Critics Scoff
--Stephanie Horvath
The
number of children diagnosed with Autism has risen
dramatically.
Some
parents believe they have found a cure: Chelation.
Six-year-old
Alexis Winter was mugging for a photographer in
her living
room on a recent Monday night when her mom, Theresa,
made a
request "Give Mommy a kiss," Theresa said.
Alexis
tore her brown eyes, magnified behind her glasses,
away
from the
camera and gave her mother a distracted peck
on
the mouth.
For
most parents, that would be unremarkable, one of countless
kisses
from their child. But for Robert and Theresa Winter of
Boynton
Beach it's a hard-won reward.
Six
months ago Alexis, who is autistic, never hugged or kissed
them.
"Her
demeanor has changed," Robert Winter said. "She'll run and
jump
in your arms now. We're teaching her to kiss now."
Autism,
a developmental disorder that affects a child's
communication
and social interaction, afflicts an astounding
one
out of 166 children in the U.S.

Ms.
Horvath goes on to explain Autism--that those with
Autism
are withdrawn, speak very little, avoid eye contact,
and
struggle to show affection and have relationships.
She
also tells what we have all heard: That there is no known
cure
to this ailment which fits among the memory disorders
because
of its affect on communication.
Her
news is that many parents of Autistic children are
trying
out Chelation and finding success.
Dr.
Andrew Levinson, who has treated over 1000 autistic
children
in the last 5 years, reports that many children
experience
reversals of Autism with Chelation.
Chelation
has been around for decades and may assist Autism
because
it detoxifies the system.
Some
doctors believe Autistic children can not detoxify
heavy
metals on their own most likely brought on by vaccinations because they are low in
glutathione.
Jim
Adams, an engineering professor, has found that the
Autistic
child secretes three times as much mercury as
healthy
children after receiving Chelation.
However,
as in all things there are many different opinions.
Not
all doctors agree with these findings.
The
article goes on to remind readers that behavioral
therapies
are the strongest method for assisting Autistic
children.
One
of the most interesting points is that Dr. Levinson
now
has the attention of main stream doctors, who regularly
contact
him to learn what he is doing. Chelation
is delivered by pill, cream, shot, or intravenous
infusion. Dr
Levinson believes other doctors are interested because,
"It's
kind of hard to argue with the results."

How
wonderful that we are finally learning--our brains require
a
lot of help because of toxins.
The
more toxins we are exposed to,
the more nutrients and
preventatives
we need to make up for it.
I
spent many years in therapy with Autistic children and
I
find these
results to be nothing short of fascinating,
extremely
important reports
on the topic of Autism.
In
addition, this news solidifies: There are similar issues
whenever the
brain is involved.
Consider ADHD and Age-Associated Memory Impairments. Though
they
may be minor compared to Autism, the needs of the brain
for
purity and brain nutrition are becoming extremely evident. The need to stay
away from many vaccines is also becoming obvious as they contain MSG,
antifreeze, formaldehyde, aluminum, lead cadmium, mercury and many by products
of animals that do not belong in human veins.
Thank
God we are moving toward healing instead of just
masking
problems of the brain with drugs thus creating
new problems
and cycles of destruction.
And
thank you for learning about the brain so you can help
others and
spread the news that brains do heal! In a way,
the
work and changes--well--they've
only just begun!
